News 12: Residents complain that stalled New Windsor school construction project is an ‘eyesore’

News 12 is fielding complaints from residents in New Windsor who live near a stalled school construction project that they say is an “eyesore.”
The complaints pertain to the grounds of the New Windsor School on Quassaick Avenue after several trees were removed last year to make way for a new building and a fence was put up.
The school is in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
The project will add air conditioning to the existing building, provide additional square footage for student instruction, including a gym and change the bus loop at the rear of the school, according to a district spokesperson, Cassie Skarlz.
Skarlz gave News 12 documents showing the $20 million project was approved by a capital bond vote and is about seven months behind after they fired their general contractor.
